Hello! I don't know if you've comment on this, but in Supernatural if the gates of Heaven are closed does this mean all souls now go to Hell? I just feel slightly confused by this part >.< — littlewhomouse

I was wondering the exact same thing! I’m not sue the gates to Heaven are necessarily closed because Metatron said when the angels die their souls will come back to Heaven.

I think Metatron just used a spell that removed the grace from all Angels and caused them to fall. I don’t think he shut the gates of Heaven!

Otherwise, yeah, souls will go to Hell or a human version of Purgatory or a limbo space or maybe it will cause all souls to become ghosts/spirits? And S9 will be all about reopening Heaven, bringing down Metatron, teaching Cas how to salt ‘n’ burn spirits, and dealing with Crowley’s humanness?
